Heather and Gian featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs

I love it when things like this happen! Today, just as I was going to meet my friends Jasmine Star and Carissa of JL Designs for coffee, I received an email letting me know that a wedding we all worked on together was going to be featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs today. How fun is that?

The ladies at EAD were so sweet to feature Heather and Gian's Malibu wedding and I so enjoyed reliving their day and all of the great details! To take at a look at the post, click here.

Happy monday!

Danielle and Joel at The Fullerton Arboretum

I am so excited to share a little sneak peak of Danielle and Joel's wedding from last weekend. These were taken by my good friend Jenetta, who is an incredible wedding photographer. ( She is also becoming a mom this weekend to two sweet little girls!)

Can we say gorgeous?

Great Bridal Show in LA this sunday!

A Soolip Wedding is one of the best bridal shows around. It is this sunday in LA at the amazing Vibiana (where one of our fab weddings last weekend was held).

If you are free and in the area, I highly recommend checking it out: lots of inspiration, wonderful vendors and tasty treats. If I didn't have a wedding, I would surely be there! I have been in past years and promise you it will be fun!

Another blog to add to the list

I am so excited! One of my favorite event designers, Tara Guerard of Soiree, has just launched a blog!

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Tara's seminar at The Special Event this year and was blown away by her amazing work and her sweet southern personality. She mentioned at the seminar that she would be launching a blog soon and I have been eagerly anticipating it ever since.

Be sure to check out Tara Guerard's Bon Bon Blog. You are sure to be inspired! While you are at, swing by the Soiree website and check out the gallery. Tara does countless things well: included on the list are details, tents and lounge furniture. I purchased her book, Southern Weddings, a couple of years ago and it quickly became one of my favorite wedding inspiration books.

Here are some of my favorite photos of her work, taken from the Soiree website:

At TSE, she gave us a sneak peak at weddings that will be featured in her next book and we are all in for a treat!

Congrats Tara- we are looking forward to the inspiration and awe we know your blog will provide!

Phew!

I can let out the secret now!

Both of our saturday weddings will be featured on the WE Network's "Amazing Wedding Cakes". It was so fun! For Danielle and Joel's wedding, a beautiful 4 teir cake sat on 6 satellite cakes all in a beautiful celadon green color with orange details and white flower swags. For Megan and Jason's wedding, Megan surprised Jason with a Lakers themed Grooms Cake. Both were awesome and I cannot wait to show you photos once I receive them.

It was a lot of fun to be a part of the filming process and the crews were great. We are so excited to see them on TV! The episodes will air in June and we will definitely keep you posted once we know dates.

A big hug to Leila of Be Inspired PR for all of her help with this and for being so amazing.

And, because my friend Jasmine* says that blog posts without pictures "are so 2001", here is a photo of me being interviewed for the show, found on Facebook

Maybe I should have done my hair.

Crazy week

It is wednesday. It feels like friday and monday all at the same time.

It is a very exciting, but also a very busy week over here. We have two wonderful weddings lined up this weekend: I will be at the Fullerton Arboretum and Darcie will be at Vibiana. Both weddings are going to be amazing and- I cannot give away too many details, but both are going to have a very exciting element to them. I'll fill you in on monday. I know- I am horrible, right?

While I leave you hanging, I thought I'd share a fun photo from this week.

From l-r Jesi, me, Ryel, Angel,Erin, Kristin, pesto (or basil?) &  Melody. We kicked the boys out.

I love this group of incredible ladies! We had our 3rd Orange County Wedding Industry Prayer & Worship Night on monday and it was such a sweet time. It is so nice to connect with peers who share my passions and to encourage one another as we begin our busy wedding season. Thanks for being involved ladies!

If you are a so cal wedding professional and would like to come to our next get together, let me know. We would love to have you!

I'll make you jealous: Melody brought deeelicious cupcakes. If you have not checked out her blog, you must. But only if you have some sweets close by because, trust me, you'll want some!

Venue Spotlight: Pelican Hill

I had the pleasure of having lunch and touring the just opened, redesigned Resort at Pelican Hill. It is absolutely gorgeous! The ceremony lawn is beautiful, the ballrooms are very elegant, but also neutral so that any color/decor scheme will fit well and the staff and food is at the top of the charts.

If you are looking for an incredible venue for wedding, be sure to check out Pelican Hill. You will be taken care of in every aspect of your wedding. Two of my favorite perks that they provide are a beautiful bridal suite right by the ceremony and reception sites, as well as a complimentary two room villa for the bride and groom on their wedding night. As if those were not already amazing, the resort supplies a Wedding Butler who will see to your every need throughout the day and even call you the week of the wedding to get requests so that they can stock your fridge for you. Talk about service!

The food at lunch was absolutely delicious and the catering managers are not only at the top of their game, but are truly nice people. If you are interested in scheduling a tour of the site or inquiring about wedding packages, please contact the wonderful Erin Killingsworth at 949.467.6824.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will have a few weddings there in the next year. Definitely one of my new favorite OC venues!

Hello Spring {or where in the world have I been}

I am back- it has been a busy week!

Target is killing me right now with their fun, fresh spring line. Here are some of my favorites, taken in horrible lighting with my point and shoot:

I love the colors, the peonies on the plate, the gift wrap, the bud vases, the flirtiness. I've been tempted to buy it all every time I swing in to buy dish soap or diapers. I have survived thus far, but you might be seeing some of these items in a certain event coming up soon :)

Happy Wednesday!

Heather and Alex at The Island Hotel

Heather and Alex were married last August at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach. Their tropical-infused wedding day was a beautiful celebration and we were honored to be a part of it. We are excited to share some photos of their day, captured by the wonderful Chris of Imagery Immaculate

I love this photo of Heather with their adorable little girl while getting her hair done:

I love a good shoe photo and this has to be the cutest one yet!

Aren't they beautiful?

The vibrant bouquets were made by Paradise Delight:

The beautiful ceremony site:
I love the bright petals on the aisle.

Cocktail arrangements:

The reception:

The bride and her sister designed the fun centerpieces themselves and our team assembled them on the day of.

The cake, made by The Island:

From these photos, you would never know that the wedding was actually pushed back an hour and a half because of an accident that closed down the 405 freeway, trapping guests and vendors. It was crazy! But our team, lead by Jordan, handled it well with the help of the wonderful staff at The Island.

The rest of the great vendor team:
*Linens: BBJ Linen
*Lighting: The Finishing Wedding Design
*Officiant: Eric Scott

Heather, Alex & Kailey: I wish your sweet little family the best! The love you have for each other and for Kailey is beautiful, which was reflected wonderfully in your wedding day. Thank you for trusting us and for enjoying your wedding day to the fullest, no matter what came your way. Jordan and the team loved being a part of it- 405 blockage and all.
